Belgium and Luxembourg are two small western European countries that stand at the crossroads of Europe. Between them they speak 5 different languages and wield power over 54 million people. They have a history and architecture going back to medieval times and their capital cities are very much at the heart of Europe. Globe Trekker Katy Haswell visits Belgium and Luxembourg, 2 European countries small in stature but large in attractions. Beginning in Antwerp, Belgium, Katy visits the stunning townhouse of Renaissance painter Rubens and gives in to her sweet tooth at one of the multitude of Belgian chocolate shops. Next she's off to the city of Bruges, a medieval gem where she tries her hand at lace making. In Brussels, she samples the local street food and takes part in Ommegang, a medieval festival held in the capital's stunning central square. Heading out to the countryside, Katy visits the site of the famous Battle of Waterloo and stays in a castle in the tiny town of Hasselt.
